Launched in 2024, ShareX is a Web3 infrastructure project focused on enabling the integration of real-world shared devices and services into blockchain-based systems. The project provides a standardized framework for onboarding Internet of Things (IoT) devices, recording usage data, and facilitating verifiable settlement processes on-chain. ShareX is designed to address structural limitations in the sharing economy, where device ownership, usage data, and revenue distribution are typically managed by centralized platforms. Through its protocol and supporting tools, ShareX introduces a model where device activity and associated economic outputs can be transparently recorded and validated on-chain, enabling more reliable data attribution and revenue sharing. The architecture of ShareX consists of three primary components: the Deshare Protocol, Deshare Toolkit, and Deshare Suite. The Deshare Protocol functions as the foundational layer, enabling the creation of device identities and the recording of usage-related data through mechanisms that link physical activity to on-chain events. The Deshare Toolkit provides integration tools that allow existing Web2 operators to connect their devices and services to the protocol without requiring significant changes to their infrastructure. The Deshare Suite includes hardware and software solutions designed for new deployments, supporting direct integration of devices into the on-chain environment. By combining device-level data verification with blockchain-based settlement, ShareX enables new forms of asset representation based on real-world usage. This includes the ability to structure revenue-generating devices as on-chain assets, often referred to as revenue-based real-world assets (RWAs). These assets can be associated with verifiable usage data and cash flows, providing a foundation for transparent participation and distribution models. The project has established integrations with multiple sharing economy operators across sectors such as shared power banks, vending machines, and other unattended retail scenarios. Through these integrations, ShareX connects a network of devices and users across different geographic regions, enabling the aggregation of real-world usage data within a unified on-chain framework. In addition to infrastructure development, ShareX operates user-facing initiatives such as TreasureX, a participation system designed to link real-world actions and social engagement with on-chain rewards. These mechanisms are intended to support user onboarding and ecosystem growth by aligning participation with measurable activity. The SHARE token functions as a utility token within the ShareX ecosystem.
